Do You Suffer From Common Warts?

plantar warts

Many people get common warts during their lifetime. You can find young people, old people and everyone in between that have these types of warts. Warts also affect individuals with all different skin types. If you are someone who doesn't know a lot about warts and what causes them, then it can be helpful to learn about them, in case you or someone in your family is ever affected.

Basically speaking, the common wart is the most prevalent of all warts that are found on the skin. Also, because they are run of the mill, it is not usually necessary to be alarmed if you start to notice that you seem prone to getting common warts. These warts are generally not cancerous or harmful in any way, shape or form. Caused by the Human Papilloma Virus, otherwise known as HPV, these warts are not to be confused with some of the other warts that you can get in different parts of the body. Flat warts, plantar warts and genital warts are mostly all located in other areas of the body and have a different level of treatment or cause for alarm. If you are concerned about having a common wart or one of the other types, then it is best to contact your physician.

A common wart is usually found on the hands. You may notice that it is close to one of your fingernails, especially on areas that may be dry or cracked. Some of them may have a bit of a bumpy appearance and a few people will even notice black dots. Because of their shape, some of these warts can often times get caught on your clothing or even gloves when you are trying to put them on.

If you do suffer from common warts, then you should know that there are several methods to use in order to get rid of them. Some of the over-the-counter treatments have been known to work quite well. Also, if the holistic approach is what you desire, then there are also essential oils that have been known to do the trick. These types of treatments, however, will not work for genital warts caused by the HPV virus. If you find that your home remedies are not working well for your common types of warts, or you simply want to cut to the chase, then visit your doctor to have the wart frozen off, burned off with a laser or even cut off through a minor surgical procedure.
